nothingness

DC's Month of Nothingness

it's true -- washington is dead in august. nothing's happening -- no congressmen, no president, no important people. all the ceo's and 2nd rankers are on vacation, all the kids are at camp, all the interns are leaving. even the boy scouts have disappeared. only the lowly staff remain... my office is practically empty, and we end up getting in later, taking longer lunches, and leaving earlier because well, nothing's on a timeline. no deadline, no due date, just a month's worth of pausing. makes getting up in the mornings kinda rough... :)
