monday morning mumblings

week 8. for some reason, that's the first thing on my mind. this is week 8 of work... odd, huh? second thought, it's freakin' muggy outside again -- why oh why is the weather so sucky?

peter jennings, age 67, died of lung cancer yesterday. and somehow, i'm sad. as young as i may be, i remember watching peter jennings, tom brokaw, and dan rather on the evening news. their stints as anchormen began during the first years of my life. my parents always turned on the tv while cooking dinner, and i came to enjoy world news -- solemn, serious, and very real -- every night. i watched them during the elections, during the olympics, during the wars.... since last december, each of the major network's anchors have gradually left their positions, allowing newer faces to take their places. but just as the older generations will probably never forget walter cronkite or david brinkley, i think i'll always remember these three. strange.. and sad. nowadays, i never watch the news anymore -- i read it on the internet instead. but maybe, i'll get back into it...

in other news, i found a new favorite tv show. grey's anatomy on abc, sunday nights at 10pm. :) hehe, so sue me, i'm a bio major after all... :)
