splish splash sploosh
i haven't consistently kept up with this dear thing in a long while, and it even surprises (possibly impresses) me that i still end up writing in it once or twice a month. i guess i have very little time as it is -- for me, much less for my dearest blog. but i'm just unable to entirely give it up 'cause i like writing. and i often miss writing. and somehow, i've been writing my entire life.
i'm tired. on monday, i was exhausted. i've been working a lot -- all last week, all weekend until 4:30pm on sunday, all week this week even though i'm technically supposed to take a day off somewhere in here (but i don't have.. time.. to take time off), part of this upcoming saturday too. it's good work, i think. i get things done, i'm moving forward with what i'm supposed to be doing, and i'm invested in making it successful and good. which is all quite admirable, isn't it??
galileo still surprises me sometimes. i mentioned this at our retreat last weekend. yes, my company has retreats. it functions well -- efficiently, effectively. and that, my friend, is no small feat. i'm still waiting for the day that it crashes, but i hope it doesn't, and i'd be very very surprised if it stops chugging along wonderfully. we all do have the same aim and ideals, and if you didn't feel that passionately about its objectives at the beginning, well gawd-darn you'll soon feel it because everyone else is so damn enthusiastic. it's almost a little weird.
weird, but good. you know?
i wonder if i'm in the right place. i don't expect to have that answer for another decade at least.
today's really sunny, shockingly sunny. i squinted while i rode my bike to work this morning. it's been raining cats and dogs and puddles and tree sap non-stop for the past few weeks. a real california winter. and today, the nature gods decided that they ran out of pee. phew.
this is buster, an adorably cute robot at the tech museum. once upon a time, he was their mascot and happily greeted kids at the door. these days, he's ... um.. no longer in functioning condition, but.. haha, for promotional photos, i thought this one was dandy :)
